Phil
Tower is a native of Phoenix and has been practicing law for 33 years. Mr. Tower
has broad experience in diverse areas of legal practice and business.
Mr.
Tower received his law degree in 1969 from the University of Arizona College of
Law where he was selected as a member of the Order of Coif. He received his undergraduate
degree from Princeton University in 1966.
His first three years of law
practice were spent in service as a Marine Judge Advocate Officer, including a
tour of duty in Viet Nam. Upon receiving his honorable discharge, he returned
to Phoenix in 1972 to enter private practice as a commercial and personal injury
litigator. In
1983 he became a founding partner of Tower, Byrne and Beaugureau, where he continued
his litigation practice, while also overseeing the firm's practice in corporate
and business law, real estate and estate planning. From
1991 to 2001 Mr. Tower served as president of his own staffing company, Conference
Resort Specialists. He also held the position of General Counsel for International
Conference Resorts where he provided advice and services in the areas of hospitality
law, management contract negotiations, corporate and tax planning, human resource
and employee benefit issues and a broad range of other general business matters. Mr.
Tower returned to private practice in 2002, and associated with Meyer, Hendricks
and Bivens on a fulltime basis in July, 2003. He brings to the firm extensive
litigation experience and a unique business background in many areas of the firm's
commercial litigation practice.
In addition to his legal and business activities,
Mr. Tower has sought to support his community through involvement in civic affairs.
He serves on the Board of Directors of the Presbyterian Service Agency and is
currently quite active as a founding board member of the Phoenix Central High
School Alumni Association.
Mr. Tower is admitted to practice in state
and federal courts in Arizona. He was admitted to the State Bar of Arizona in
1969 and the State Bar of California in 1971. His California bar membership is
currently inactive.
