Complex Commercial and Professional Liability Litigation
Don Bivens has been practicing complex litigation since his admission to the Bar in 1977. For the last 25 years he has handled a variety of civil litigation matters at both the trial and appellate levels, including contracts, securities fraud, torts, patent infringement, officer and director liability, personal injury, medical malpractice, insurance coverage, class actions and technology-related cases. He has been selected as one of the Best Lawyers in America for business litigation.

Don has served as President of the State Bar of Arizona, and President of the Maricopa County Bar Association. He has served as Chair of Arizona's Lawyer Representatives to the Ninth Circuit Judicial Conference, and he is now President-Elect of the Western States Bar Conference.

Don was elected in 1999 by the lawyers of Arizona to serve as the State Delegate to the ABA House of Delegates, a post to which he was re-elected in 2002. He is currently Chair of the Rules and Calendar Committee of the ABA House of Delegates.

Don has 15 years of leadership experience in technology issues. He has served as Chair of the Computer Litigation Committee in the ABA Litigation Section, and is currently the Chair of the ABA's Standing Committee on Technology and Information Systems. Don has been an active leader in the ABA Litigation Section since 1988, during which he has chaired a number of technology-related committees, and served as an elected member to the governing Council.

Don is a frequent lecturer, demonstrator and program chair on litigation issues for national and state-wide audiences for the ABA Litigation Section and the State Bar of Arizona.

Don received his undergraduate degree magna cum laude, with departmental honors in English, from Yale in 1974. He received his law degree in 1977 from the University of Texas, where he was a Note and Comment Editor on the Texas Law Review.

Don is admitted to practice in state and federal courts in Arizona, the Ninth Circuit, the Federal Circuit, and the Supreme Court of the United States.
